Architect forgot the elevator in Intempo Benidorm Spain

One of Europe’s tallest buildings in Benidorm Spain; the architect forgot to put in elevators. It sounds like a joke among architects, but it is still the case in Intempo building in Benidorm, Alicante Spain. An extension of the building from 20 to 47 floors means that the elevator only goes to the 20th floor.

If they lacked elevators were the only stupidity throughout the building, it would almost be forgiven, but that is not the case. The building has been under the leadership of several different companies, and construction loans for building work have also moved between several banks over the years.

When construction of the building Intempo started in 2006, described it as Benidorm pride, but now it’s a disgrace to Benidorm. It is now a symbol of the over-consumption that took Spain into the economic crisis that Spain now finds itself in.

Construction work has been disbanded several times for different reasons. Among the most notable was the Spanish bank Caixa Galicia which provided the financing, which ended with salary payments until the construction workers had opened current accounts at the bank.

On another occasion worked builders four months without pay, for no particular reason from bank Caixa Galicia.

Another criticism is that it was only when the construction reached the 23 floor building company installed a temporary matrial lift. Before that was all materials been carried up by the stairs of the 41 construction workers.

Matrial elevator collapsed later with 13 people in. When that happened, it became apparent that it had been built in all the wrong places. The ambulances arrived at the scene, could not enter the building site, efterson no inputs for vehicles existed.

Intempo building in Benidorm today to 94 percent complete and is scheduled for completion in December. They only manage to sell about 35 percent of the apartments in Intempo Benidorm Alicante Spain.
